Alpen Gold was launched in 1992 by German food company Stollwerck specifically for the markets of the former Soviet Union (and is now owned by Mondelēz International). Since 1997, the chocolate has been produced in Russia and, according to the Wikipedia – except for the name – has nothing to do with the Alps.
